Belmonte house

This detached single-family house is designed for a rural plot with wide views over the Castilian landscape. The proposal aims to sit respectfully in its setting, with local materials and reinterpreted traditional building methods.

The house is organised around a central courtyard that links its spaces and brings daylight into every room. The orientation makes the most of solar gain in winter and protects the house from overheating in summer.
